Bitterness after bitterness, sadness after sadness, doubt after doubt, weariness after weariness...
‣ A change in the state of mind began to become noticeable after the insane tragedy in Kakhovka.
The Ukrainians were shocked by the weak and almost non-existent response of the West to this terrible disaster.
‣ After that, Western media began to talk more and more openly and ironically about the slow, sometimes described as unsuccessful, Ukrainian counter-offensive. This served as the first very strong signal since the beginning of the war – when the West had written off Ukraine and was waiting for the solemn march of the rashist winners of the Kyiv Khreshchatyk – that the West was doubting the final Ukrainian victory.
‣ Finally, the positive emotions surrounding the Prigogine riot ended along with the inglorious end of the riot itself. The turmoil gave Ukrainians great hope that everything could end faster than they had allowed themselves to dream. But it wouldn't...
‣ And finally came the cold shower from Vilnius. Yes, the Ukrainians had no particular illusions, but, as my fellow student from 100 years ago said – you know that the doctors will not tell you anything at least somehow comforting, but when they really do not tell you anything at least a little comforting, you just collapse into the abyss of pain and despondency.
In exactly one month, the Ukrainian society endured these four strong emotional shocks, which crystallized in its consciousness into fatigue, severe fatigue, unbearable fatigue. Fatigue from the War, from the countless human casualties, from the continuous bombings and shelling, from the constant destruction, from the bloodlust of rashism, from the cold-bloodedness of the West.
The West was not ready to offer Ukraine real membership in NATO and conducted an equally crushing artillery barrage against Ukraine and its people, so that it would justify its own unpreparedness and shift the blame from the sick head to the healthy one!
All four arguments in this direction are as understandable as they are absurd.
First, a country in a state of war cannot be accepted into NATO.
So what is NATO for?
And grandma knows how to accept countries that are in a state of peace.
Oh yes – Bulgaria – this is a very powerful NATO membership!
And what about Albania? As a friend of mine wrote to me some time ago - "I am calm about the future of NATO, as soon as such a country free from corruption, so democratic, enormously developed and with a maximally strong army becomes a pillar of NATO!".
And [North] Macedonia? In fact, how far is it in a state of peace? After creeping Albanianization is going on, after entire large municipalities, even regions, are flying Albanian flags and everything in the administration there from the cleaner to the leading politician-tortor-chief are Albanians. Since religion there is used not for the spiritual enlightenment of Albanians (and especially Albanian women), but for separation, for separation from the Macedonians, for encapsulating one's own ethnicity and legalizing territorial conquests...
We have Ukraine – a country absolutely ready for membership as an army, professing democratic principles similar to the West. And NATO cannot accept it because this country was at war...
The military and political conditions for acceptance are there – that's for sure! Isn't NATO a military-political alliance? If 800,000 pages of documents are signed for EU entry, 8 pages are signed for NATO entry.
But no, Ukraine will be accepted into NATO, but another time. Once, but not now.
Second, Putin should not be backed into a corner.
Before, you didn't have to because, you see, Putin was very strong. And now it shouldn't, because Putin, after the coup of thugs from Wagner, turned out to be very weak.
In international relations, you either corner the enemy or he corners you – with blackmail.
Well, NATO lets mouse Putin act like a very dangerous rat and is backed into a corner by him. The rat (mouse) is cornering the man! As the Russians say – quite the opposite.
Thus, Putin sets the NATO agenda and who will be accepted when.
No, make no mistake about Finland and Sweden – and their acceptance was determined by Putin. If it weren't for Putin, they wouldn't have come out of the dormant state of neutrality. Because any neutrality works until it is threatened. It's damn nice to follow a policy of neutrality when nobody threatens you with anything.
On the contrary, precisely in order to put Putin in place, a clear road map for Ukraine's recent membership in NATO had to be given. Not to allow Putin to dictate to NATO what decisions to make.
Once again, de facto Putin was a participant in the NATO Summit in Vilnius. At least in informal conversations... And last but not least – in formal decisions.
NATO did not even try to sweeten the bitter tincture of Ukraine's rejection of membership. At least it was hypocritical for her to say – the final decision on when Ukraine will join NATO will be taken at the next summit!
Thirdly, Ukraine is full of Russian agents.
Excuse me, but Bulgaria? And Hungary? And Slovakia? And the Czech Republic? And Greece? Even Turkey? Even France? What about Germany?
The rashist agency has metastasized all over Europe – from the English Channel to Anatolia.
But whoever has access to secret documents actually permission are given by NATO itself. So NATO and its inflexible respective structures should open their eyes and not keep them wide shut...
And when will the fight against the Russian agency be more successful? When Ukraine is left to its own devices or when Ukraine is in NATO?
Not to mention that many of these agencies in Ukraine were hunted down, partially exterminated, somewhat converted to the true faith and at least to some extent Ukrainianized themselves. As a part of the State Security agents among the Bulgarian Turks and Muslims after November 10 became pro-democratic and even some of them went over to the side of Turkey. Because these people were forced with threats and violence, with blackmail and extortion to be "recruited".
Yes, Ukraine has a problem with the rashist agency, perhaps bigger than Bulgaria, but to get Ukraine completely eaten up to the very top by this agency is IPSO - Information Psychological Special Operation of certain circles in the West and repainted former Kagebists (like Shvets) against Ukraine. A very successful IPSO. This cannot be denied.
In fact, Ukraine's problem is not so much a rashist agency, but that there are – roughly 20% of the population of Ukraine who are psychologically (as well) with Russia – even when Russian bombs are falling on their heads. Nearly half of that 20% are undecided – they're looking at what they're offered. And the rapid Euro-Atlantic and European integration of Ukraine would give them much more - it would be the weight that will weigh on the scale of the fact that they are an "in-between" population with "in-between" and fragmented identity... The more Ukraine continues to is far from NATO and the EU, the more they hesitate and this may push them into the arms of Russia. And the other half of that 20%? They are unpredictable and it is not known what their behavior will be in a Euro-Atlantic, democratic Ukraine – maybe they will be like our rashists-patriots-useless idiots... Yes, some of them are now "zhduni" (waiting) – waiting and hope Russia wins the war, whatever that means.
Fourth, the level of corruption in Ukraine was unacceptable.
And in Bulgaria it is permissible, right? Congratulations, as the Father of permissible Bulgarian corruption and former prime minister would say...
And in Hungary? There is probably no corruption there. In Greece, there is no corruption at all and there cannot be…
Research shows that in half of the member countries of NATO and/or the EU there is a higher than the "minimum acceptable" level of corruption. And in a fifth of these countries, the level of corruption is between high and very high!
But Ukraine is demonized.
Although it is known that military supplies are always, ABSOLUTELY ALWAYS, the source of the greatest corruption anywhere in the world (Bulgarian history is a vivid illustration in this regard). EVERYWHERE! And that corruption is not only and primarily a national, but above all a transnational problem. And the answer to this problem must be not only national, but trans-national, supra-national.
When will Ukraine fight corruption more effectively – when it is left alone in the battle with it, or when the European and Euro-Atlantic structures – police, judicial, intelligence, counter-intelligence, information and military - are engaged in this battle. Yes, and military! Because when the political leadership of Ukraine is slandered for corruption, it is forgotten that every screw, every bolt, which is delivered from the West to Ukraine, is the result of a transaction signed by a senior Ukrainian military officer, or even senior Ukrainian military officers.
When it was talked about how the civilian leadership of the Ministry of Defense in Bulgaria was corrupt, it was forgotten that whatever delivery was made to Bulgaria - there were also signatures of military personnel.
A western foreigner once, nearly 15 years ago told me: I will not talk to the official institutions about my deal anymore, I know how things are in Bulgaria and I will do it myself, and then I will sleep around Palma de Mallorca or Palma de Minorca with my next girlfriend! I have found a Nikolay in business, a Nikolay in the Ministry of Defense, a Nikolay in the General Directorate, a Nikolay around the Prime Minister, a Nikolay in the body that legitimizes the deal... And everything is tied up in a towel, I have taken care of my work, I have given it to whoever needs it as much as it should.
I then joked – well, why did he ignore a Nikolay in the presidency? He told me - - (honest word, that's what he told me!): Because this Nikolay is not for sale and is not bought...
So this Western businessman made his deal, and then went to one of the two Palmas in question... And at the same time, some naive Germans offered all sorts of wonderful conditions for a deal with Bulgaria for 10 years, and they never even sold a single nail to her. Because they don't give under the table and above the table, in front of the door and behind the door.
But let's go back to Ukraine.
The "anti-corruption" friendly fire against Ukraine hit President Zelensky above all, that true Leader of Ukraines. And now his authority in Ukraine is damaged.
For all the reluctance of the West to extend a partnering hand to Ukraine, the accusations are not against the West, but against Zelensky. And this is so damn unfair and so unacceptable…
As a result of everything written so far, Ukraine is currently in a state of increasing depression. The crusts are bleeding, on quite old wounds. There is doubt about the good outcome of the War. Confidence in her political leadership has been undermined. Fatigue is growing among the Ukrainian people.
We have no idea how hard it is for the Ukrainians today! Scattered far from home - either in Ukraine or around the world. Broken families. Complete inability to plan their lives. Dwindling family financial resources. Deceased or disabled relatives and acquaintances. Bitterness with the West. Disgust with Russia. Totally messed up life. Absolutely unclear prospects. A completely incomprehensible way out of this apocalyptic Trouble.
Let's pray for the Ukrainian people – not to break! To endure. To regain hopes for freedom, sovereignty, territorial integrity and democratic system. To overcome the cruel, inhuman fatigue of everything and everyone.
Ukrainians are a great nation. I bow to them!
But even great nations sometimes do not last. If they do not have loyal friends, reliable partners, courageous defenders and like-minded countries with strong political leadership and a clear strategic vision.
