All of us who are humanly moved and feel strongly about Ukraine always feel pain and sorrow when we learn about another bombing of a Ukrainian city, when we watch footage of the destruction, when we see pictures of dead or maimed children... But in some completely natural and understandable way , our concerns about Ukraine are fragmented and sometimes overshadowed by our other concerns. Well, our life has not stopped here – with our Bulgarian upheavals and with our individual joys and tribulations. There are football passions, summer is coming at sea, we have sharp political quarrels, all sorts of other excitements and emotions...
Moreover, the tragedies in Ukraine have not affected us personally – we have not lost a loved one, our home has not been destroyed, even Kakhovka is somehow still far from us, as well as the Zaporizhia NPP...
Try to imagine how it is for the Ukrainians during this almost year and a half. I don't know why, but I'm sure you can't quite imagine..
Poor is the fantasy of those who live in peace, what is it like for those who live in war!
I maintain constant or periodic contact with 10-12 Ukrainians in Ukraine and with another 4-5 outside Ukraine, from them I learn first-hand a lot about the colossal tragedy of this beautiful country and this wonderful people.
There are practically no Ukrainians now who have not lost a relative, friend or acquaintance in the War, not to mention someone crippled by this War. No, it's not even exactly "relative, friend or acquaintance", but "relatives, friends or acquaintances".
Ukrainians abroad or those in settlements relatively far from the hostilities and bombings tremble daily and nightly in anxious anticipation of learning that another relative, friend or acquaintance has been killed or disabled for life. Daily and nightly.
How is it for my fellow student to constantly see a young boy, a neighbor, without one leg and how his devastated mother takes him for a walk in a wheelchair...
And this sad picture is not only in the entrance block of this fellow student of mine – it is a constantly common picture in the cities, towns, villages and hamlets of Ukraine.
Imagine walking around Sofia and wounded and seriously injured people from the War passing by all the time – how will we feel, how will our laughter stop when we see such a person, how insignificant our anger and indignation will turn out to be compared to the experience of the invalid passing us...
I remember one time in Kharkiv how I was chilled, seeing young people so often crippled by the war in Afghanistan – their lives could never be the same again. And this later gave birth to the "Afghan" syndrome – embittered, prone to crime, exploding even without a reason, cruelly insulting living and healthy people, beings ready to beat and kill, rob and rape not only as a way of existence, but also as the only occupation they can indulge in.
And in Ukraine, the injured and disabled from the war are many times, many times more than those in Afghanistan.
And Ukrainians not only treat these victims with great pity and human empathy, but they cannot help but worry about their fate, about what awaits them, how they will come to terms with their disability, will they not become embittered, criminalize if the state's assistance for them is insufficient for a normal life. Not to mention that Ukrainians have their relatives, friends and acquaintances at the front, and when they see a disabled person on the streets, their heart sinks that some of their relatives, friends or acquaintances will also be disabled from the War...
And also, can you imagine how the cemeteries stretching almost to the horizon with graves with the Ukrainian flag – of those who died in the war – ruin the psyche? And this is constantly seen by Ukrainians in the respective settlements, Ukraine is littered with such new cemeteries – with graves of people who until recently, like us, lived a normal life, drank coffee, argued about Dynamo Kyiv and Shakhtar Donetsk, watched various shows and have rummaged through various sites, stuck their noses in their phones...
Can you imagine what it's like to have the air alarm wail several times a night. And you have to grab a child, a grandchild, a dog and run to hide, and leave your elderly and almost paralyzed father in the bathtub in the bathroom? And the next day to be able to work?
Can you imagine a shell falling next to you (I posted a photo of my acquaintance) and only because it didn't explode, you're still alive?
Can you imagine the bakery where you buy your bread every day turned into ruins just 15 minutes before you go to buy your daily bread from it?
Can you imagine, like my fellow student's family, already moving to another third city of Ukraine, fleeing away from the hostilities? How does an elderly person adapt to yet another new place, how does he eat and dress, how do his grandchildren learn, how does he live with a son on the front, for whom your heart breaks?
And how are the millions of Ukrainians outside of Ukraine? Leaving, many of them harbored hope, that it won't be long. Now everyone realizes with shock and bitterness that it will be a long time. How to plan your life, how to manage financially, what will they do, where will their children finish school and how will they finish it, where will these children study after classes 7 or 12?
Not to mention that quite strong negative sentiments arise among Ukrainians in Ukraine regarding Ukrainians who are no longer in Ukraine. Among these sentiments there are elements of envy, and of disagreement that they have abandoned the homeland, and of alienation, and of various even property rights and claims. To a large extent this, although understandable, is unfair because I also know first hand with my friends how hard expat life is especially when you are over 50 years old... You become a tree without roots and gradually wither away somewhere else.
Let's add the war-ravaged Ukrainian economy, Ukraine's drama with finances, with the heavy destruction, with the constant living on the edge between life and death for millions of people, with the crushing uncertainty of how long this war will last and what other bad things it will bring.
Since 1945, no European country, no people in Europe has been subjected to such monstrous suffering. Yes, war always brings heavy damage, human casualties and destruction, but here it is not just a War like any other cruel war, but a War of destruction of Ukraine as a country! Not just to be conquered and turned into a Little Russian province of Russia, but to be obliterated as a social entity and depersonalized as a people.
And here we must be fully aware of the goals and convictions of the chamber of monsters of various scales and with various roles that has conquered and rules Russia. Of course, headed by the main monster Putin.
In relation to Ukraine (but for now, only for now – in relation to Ukraine, because this is the first step), the monster Putin and his rashist Russia are acting as the were acting in relation to the lands inhabited by Slavs (mainly on the territory of the then Soviet Union) monster Hitler and his Nazi Germany.
Putin is at war with Ukraine, above all, to expand Russia's living space, quite in a Hitlerian, Nazi style. In order to create on this Ukrainian territory a huge Russified space inhabited by Russians and to use Ukrainian wealth and raw materials, crushing the industry of Ukraine and exporting to Russia all Ukrainian industrial equipment, technologies and inventions and successful engineering solutions. For Putin, Ukrainians in the conquered territory will either be second-class Russians (if they accept to declare themselves Russian) or subhumans to be either deported or exploited at the lowest possible living standards.
There should not be naive delusions – Putin is repeating in Ukraine these days – sometimes one to one, sometimes in a perverse caricature, but also in a cruel way, what Hitler did against the Slavic peoples of the USSR.
In this sense, Putin is also a villain, a monster, just like Hitler was. With the known difference in the scale of the deeds and in the management qualities of the two monsters.
For human history, the monster Hitler is one of the biggest monsters that ever existed, with him History takes place as a colossal TRAGEDY (and that the tragedy is colossal is enough to mention in parallel with the atrocities of the Nazis on the Slavic territories of the USSR, and indisputably (or at least in my opinion) the greatest atrocity ever committed – The Final Solution, the extermination of millions of Jews – something appalling in design and insanely barbaric in execution.
And if the monster Hitler for human history was realized as a colossal tragedy, then the monster Putin to one degree or another is realized as a cruel and caricatured FARCE.
Unfortunately, this farce, even a farce, brings inhuman suffering to the Ukrainian people.
And here we must say the following.
There are psychopathic people – psychopathy is an extreme mental illness;
As suffering uncontrollably from an extreme mental illness, psychopaths must be identified and diagnosed, they must be treated in isolating medical facilities. They are socially dangerous and must be under control, because the interests of society are above the interests and the so-called psychopath's human rights.
There are people who are sociopaths – sociopathy is an extreme disease of society.
Suffering uncontrollably from an extreme disease of society, sociopaths are most often victims of society and the ultra-liberal, ultra-market totalitarianism that seeps into every fiber of human consciousness, breeds anomie, anemia and apathy, creates social relations, for which the main thing is the achievement – at the cost of everything and at any cost – of material success, and the understanding that man is a wolf to man.
Of course, just because many of them are "victims of the system", sociopaths cannot be tolerated and left to be sociopaths at will. But sociopaths cannot be fought only by fighting them one by one. To limit the production of sociopaths, we must realize that they are a product of society. We have built a Frankensteinian-type of society in which there is nothing sacred and too many people are being marginalized, falling to the bottom. Our society is sick and it needs to be treated, the swamps of selfishness to be drained, the deserts of immorality to be revived for new life and the garbage dumps of greed to be recycled.
Naturally, psychopathy and sociopathy can go together, one leading to the other, often they have a negative synergistic effect, i.e. they do not "add", but "multiply", enter into resonance, mutually amplify and accelerate.
But there is another "pathy" - let's call it POLITICAL-PATHY – an extreme disease of politics.
Politicians that suffer from politico-pathia we could call them political-pathies. They operate at the top management, at the strategic level in a country, and are capable of causing far more and far more catastrophic damage than psychopaths and sociopaths combined.
A politico-path may be personally a psychopath or a sociopath, or to some extent both. But he is much more than that.
We are what we think and speak. But the inverse relationship is also valid here - what we think and speak, that is (what we become) us.
That's why we have to be vigilant – as a society – what a politician thinks and says!
In particular, we must be alert to what the leaders of Bulgarian nazi party “Vazrazhdane” think and say. The Nazis of “Vazrazhdane” are the most vile and disgusting thing that has spawned our politics since November 10th, 1989.
Once upon a time, the monster Hitler spoke and wrote (in the pasquila "Main Kampf") crazy things. And later he became a politico-path, he became sick with politico-pathia – he became what he spoke and wrote, sick with political insanity.
Hitler got sick precisely from this politico-pathy, because he turned his insane thoughts and ideas into politics and this politics subordinated him to himself, he became as a politician what this politics dictated to him to be.
Hitler became a political monster, terminally ill with malice and monstrous politics, a despicable villain.
Unlike psychopathy and sociopathy, politico-pathy has a much lower threshold of transmission to other people ("contagion"), and it much more easily becomes a disease – acute, extreme, uncontrollable, dark, and misanthropic – in the entire management system.
The once ruling elite in Germany has turned into a gang, a gang of political-pats. Some of them were intelligent people, but now terminally ill, they all became instruments of terror and monstrous crimes.
It's scary when such a bunch of politicians get into power – especially in countries with military power. Never underestimate when a leader or a handful of leaders say monstrous things and have monstrous ambitions!
They can turn out to be negative passionarians – i.e. people with enormous energy and frantic abilities and brutally try to realize what they think and say.
The terrible example of the monster Hitler and the Nazi superstition, which corrupted an entire remarkable country with a remarkable culture, an entire people known for remarkable diligence and discipline, organization and determination, must always be before our eyes.
But the lessons of History are meant to be forgotten.
I personally, when I saw how by 2007 Putin suddenly "turned the tide" and instead of looking into each other's souls with the American president, he began to talk about the West as an enemy of human civilization, and about the collapse of the Soviet Union as the most the great geopolitical tragedy, I was deeply disturbed.
I wrote in my publications and shared with my students that there is a huge danger that what philosopher-idiots like Dugin and some other handfuls of such logorean and highly educated fanatics write and cry, Putin may start to think it. And this is the first step, the beginning of political-pathy.
Politico-pathy is a serious disease in which there is an often invisible transition from a politician thinking and saying something to wanting to do that thing. That's why I feared that when Putin starts talking such nonsense, it's only a matter of time before he starts doing what he says.
Such was my firm and already proven conviction that there is a catastrophic danger that what Putin already thinks with conviction and speaks categorically to the world (his speech in Munich in 2007), he will begin to want to do it, to realize it on practice.
For me (of course, not only for me), in my terminology, Putin had begun to suffer from politico-pathia, to become a politico-path. And he gradually turned into an inhuman and heartless politician-pat.
The path taken by Hitler was repeated in the new conditions – from some foaming at the mouth delusions to a practical program of action!
History tells it, shows it and proves it – if a negative passionarian appears as a politician with brutal and megalomaniac ideas, with a frenzied hatred for a part of humanity, with expansionist plans to expand the living space for the country and his people, these delusions of his will inevitably escalate into a morbid state – into what I am here calling politico-pathia. And from here it is only one step for this contagion to be handed over to a politician group who supports this deadbeat and to become an infinitely dangerous tool for destroying the so-called broad masses of people and aggression against neighboring countries.
That is why I call Putin a monster of the kind of monster Hitler.
That is why I call today's Russia a sick horde of politicopathies, repeating the sick horde of politicopathies – Nazis.
This is why I call Russian society today a sick society – because it is under the fatal influence and iron control of its politicopathic leader and his horde of politicopathies.
Everything in rashist Russia today is like in Nazi Germany once – only refracted through the prism of these days conditions.
There are also mitigating factors in the ability of rashist politicopathies to inflict horrific harm – these are modern information and communication technologies and their social networks and means of non-state-controlled communication.
But there's also something terrifying, cruelly dangerous – that's the nuclear weapon in the rascal monster's clutches - that's his wunderwaffe. Thank God the monster Hitler didn't get to this wunderwaffe, but the monster Putin has it in his hands. In his misanthropic and obscurantist hands.
...
I wanted to say the following two things above:
1. The West should not look at Putin and his gang of politicians, oligarchs, chekists, military and policemen as some extreme in normality, as some extreme of normality, as a state on the edge of normality.
No, it's that Putin and his gang are THE ABNORMALITY THEMSELVES, they are sick with the most dangerous disease – politicopathy, they are much scarier than psychopaths and sociopaths (although some of them may also be psychopaths and-or sociopaths) taken together.
We are talking about a serious disease that makes it impossible to agree that Putin or any of his creatures would remain in power.
There is nothing scarier than a politicopathies with a nuclear weapon in his hands.
2. The West must look at the events in Ukraine as the first target of the politicopathies – those politically insane people who hijacked Russia.
As a wise man once said, Putin and his gang are like the terrorists who took over the cabin of those Boeing jetliners and aimed it at the World Trade Center towers. Just like that, Putin and his gang have taken over the cabin of the liner "Russia" and directed it into the towers (system and values) of the West.
Ukraine is the battlefield of human civilization, of the democratic world, of the West, of Europe against the biggest and most dangerous disease that has taken over the mind of the monster Putin and his damn gang.
There can be no appeasement with Putin, the West must not allow any bending. Putin may be a pathogenic farce as a monster compared to Hitler, but he is a monster too. The monster understands only a strong and forceful response, a decisive and unconditional victory, a trial and merciless sentences against those of Putin and his gang who survive to be judged; the world needs comprehensive de-rashiafication, de-putinization of Russia, just as comprehensive de-nazification, de-hitlerization of Germany was carried out.
The knife of human civilization is held to the bone because of Putin just as it was once held to the bone of human civilization because of Hitler.
Then the victory was withheld and the apocalypse avoided.
I have no doubt that even now the victory will be withheld and the apocalypse will be avoided. The question is at what price.
And this will be the price that Ukraine will pay – a beautiful country with a wonderful people.
