That explains a lot. They paid a heavy price for their oppositionism, but they also bear the blame for Russia's degradation. Because they did not miss a single opportunity to miss every, even the smallest chance to be useful to Russia.

Yes, being an opponent of Putin is infinitely dangerous and undeniably heroic. For what these people experienced - appreciation and support!

But we must painfully say it to ourselves - and Russian democrats are poisoned by imperialism, they are sick of painfully distorted thinking about Russia's role in the world. They can be dangerous for Ukraine today. It is not for nothing that that part of them, which is liberalizing today in Europe and selling expensive cheap illusions to European politicians, one by one are falling from the ranks of those who support Ukraine in the War.

Russian democrats are generally democrats, but not quite.
And the day will inevitably come when they will prove to be a serious challenge to Europe. Because they were never part of the solution to the "Russia" problem, but unfortunately they are part of this problem.
