Zelensky had no useful move. For the sake of Ukraine, the fighting soldiers, and the civilians dying under the bombings, he had to step on the throat of his own human song and ceremoniously (but at least minimally!) bow his head to Trump and tickle his ego with a goose feather.
In my opinion, this would not change Trump’s course in any way, but it would allow Trump and his psychopathic pack to tell the world:

Let me briefly mention Game Theory.
Zelensky is a player with rational goals, strategy, resources, and principles.
Game Theory is almost entirely about such players. It generally examines rational games with rational players.

In it, figuratively speaking, two people are racing toward each other in their trucks, and the coward is the one who swerves first, turns, veers off, or gives up.
However, this game goes to hell when one of the two suddenly lets go of the steering wheel. Whether it’s the real steering wheel (the madman) or a fake one (the bluffer), the other participant doesn't know.
Yes, but Game Theory assumes both players are rational. It has practically always ignored that one of them is an irrational player.
I say “practically always” because Game Theory allows irrational behavior as part of... a rational strategy – who will “blink” first. De-escalation through escalation.
But here we have a completely irrational, arrogant, brutal, obsessive, maniacal player – Trump.
Zelensky, figuratively speaking, is not a truck, but a normal car, and Trump, besides being an irrational player, is in a tank.
There’s no way Zelensky wouldn’t “blink” first, wouldn’t swerve, wouldn’t bow, wouldn’t say – You are the Leader of the World!
I have long been writing:
- From a scientific perspective, the West lived happily with the pleasant, attractive, cozy, comfortable Game Theory of rational players participating in rational games.
If I were scientifically at least 10 years younger, I would work day and night on Game Theory with irrational players in irrational games.
Putin is also playing against Europe the Chicken game, waving his nuclear blackmail...
The realistic view today tells me that a Special Geopolitical Operation is underway to suffocate, strangle Ukraine. The only way Ukraine can be broken is for the US to support Russia.
Against Russia, Ukraine was even winning.
Against Russia and China, Ukraine held its ground and retreated only when necessary.
Against Russia, China, and the US, i.e., against the New World Order they want to impose, Ukraine is doomed.
Ukraine, which has been in my heart for 50 years now (I became a student in Kharkiv in 1975), must be, according to this New World Order, the price that the current World Order is obliged to pay. Just as the USSR was the price that the old, Cold War-era World Order paid to the new one, and today – the price that the current World Order will pay.
Both Macron and Starmer are essentially trying to make sure the price is not higher. They may not fully realize it, but they want to go to Trump together with Zelensky and say – Let this be the price! Let it not be higher, let it not be more! Let’s stop at Ukraine! Let’s limit ourselves to Ukraine!
The price that Europe has paid for three years of strategically wrong or strategically incorrect behavior is Ukraine, our Ukraine, my Ukraine.
The price is part of Ukraine’s territory, part of Ukraine’s military, part of Ukraine’s civilians, and part of Ukraine’s European and democratic essence (I hope I’m wrong).
In the spirit of these heavy thoughts of mine, I’ll say something about the Hollywood crowd (check for yourselves what this term means in Russian).
Is it courage to curse Trump (now or 6 years ago)? No.
We once thought that if we speak our minds to the communists, if we say it to their faces, if we verbally attack them, it would be a big deal.
Neither words nor curses make a dent.
The words fly away, and the curse lowers the one who curses to the level of the one being cursed. Yes, at least the person washed their conscience by throwing a loud curse at Trump.
Just like I don't accept when prominent pop icons say they won’t live in the US under Trump! And they move to some millionaire place in Palma de Mallorca or Palma de Minorca.
They are only helping Trump. Putin, too, when he couldn’t arrest someone, expelled them from Russia, and now Russia is silent and peaceful. No public opinion.
American stars, instead of cursing Trump and going to quiet and affluent places, should use their authority, popularity, and fame to fight for the US and at least minimize the damage done by this Thromb that will bring their country to a stroke.
Otherwise, the rising Cult of Personality around Trump will turn into an absolute dictatorship, and the Hollywood crowd’s parties will be condemned as scandalous soirées, then banned, and eventually, their participants will have to publicly repent and go sing patriotic songs at the front with some Canada...
Building takes time, but it falls apart quickly. Global orders often collapse very quickly.
Now the task of tasks for all pro-democrats, including the Bulgarian ones, is to preserve and unite Europe! Because if we don’t do it now, it will happen eventually, but then someone like Starmer, Macron, or Merz may say:
- We preserved and united Europe, but we paid a high price – Bulgaria...
